Our Ancestors and Their Stories

To illustrate the impact of the Revolutionary War on ordinary people, we would like to share the personal stories of a few of our Revolutionary War ancestors.  These Patriots supported the Revolutionary War effort in many different ways and we are proud of each and every one of them.

Our chapter namesake.

A Baptist minister who aided the Colonies without bearing arms. 

An NC militiaman. 

A father and son who served together.

A brave wagon driver who supplied troops.

A three-time enlistee who captured Tory prisoners.

A Quaker.

An Irish immigrant who was at Valley Forge, taken prisoner, fought at several battles, and rose to be a Captain.

One of General Washington's  officers.
